Disgusted By The 101
Dear Editor, It has come to my attention that Rockaway Police Officers of the 101 Precinct do not really care about their jobs. It outrages me to read an article, like I just did, from an out of the Rock paper ["Getting out of Dodge," The Village Voice, February 5].

Blowin' In The Wind
Dear Editor, Thought your editorial on 'snitching' was tremendous, Howard. This fear of 'snitching' is - I believe - the real and grave problem facing the people of the Rockaways, especially. in the public housing projects. Let's face it, there's a criminal element amongst all peoples. It's not ...

Investigate Belle Harbor Manor
Dear Editor, I would like to thank you for making the public aware of the sex offender currently residing at the Belle Harbor Manor. Belle Harbor Manor has been a problem for us for years. Families with children, including our family, live across the street from the Belle Harbor Manor.

Leave It to Teachers
Dear Editor, I disagree with Peter Vallone's proposal of a bill mandating how much homework a teacher may give. This is just another example of not treating teachers like professionals. The teacher should be able to determine what is appropriate for his or her class.

Dear Editor, What does it take for the New York City Police Department to solve a crime, more specifically, what does it take for the 101 Precinct to solve a crime. Granted the crime occurred some 20 years ago. To be exact, the crime was a homicide which occurred on April 15, 1987 at Beach 25 Str...

Know Your History
Dear Editor, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to comment upon your commentary entitled: "Snitches Get Stitches and Wind Up in Ditches" (02/18/08), that you translated into English to mean: "Everybody should keep their mouth shut if they witness a crime, or transgression," particularly in the Bl...

Shocked And Saddened At Dayton Beach Park
Dear Editor, As a long-time Dayton Beach Park resident I am shocked and saddened at the behavior of some of our former board members during the recent election process. Our first election was held in November during our annual meeting. An overwhelming majority of residents voted all of the incum...

Why Children Lie
Dear Editor, Children lie to look big in their friends' eyes, to get attention, and to get out of trouble. They don't realize how a lie can hurt others. Take it from me; I know how a lie will hurt you. Children lie to justify their wrongs. When I was growing up, if I dared to tell a lie, my mothe...
