Ruby King
Retired Housekeeping Specialist

Ruby King, a longtime Rockaway resident, died February 4.

King was born in Crawfordville, Georgia on November 21, 1927. She retired from Rockaway Vendor Housekeeping Services Inc., where she worked as a housekeeping specialist for more than 25 years. She was the president of the Nursing Ministry and later became an active member. She was also a member of St. John's Baptist Church and the Pastor's Aides.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Roy Callier; husband, Forston King; daughter, Linda King; grandson, Darryl Diggs; and siblings, Tom, Henry and Johnnie Callier, Ida Ivey and Annie Stewart.

King is survived by her children, Ethel Diggs, Melvin, Georgiann, Roy (Anne), Alphonso (Yvonne) and Gregory King; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgranddaughter; First Lady Williams and the St. John Baptist Church family; friends, Janie Jarrells, Mary Johnson, Jeanelle and Eddie Farmer; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were held at St. John's Baptist Church.
