for larger version       Vernal G.O'Meally Vernal O'Meally, a longtime Rockaway resident, died January 29. O'Meally, a hospital housekeeper, was born in Mount Hermon St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies on December 9, 1928. He is survived by Tessa Anita, Christopher George Jr., Suzan Maria, Monica, Dorothy and Christina O'Meally, Joyce M. Campbell, Deonora E. Anderson and Marcia L. Madden; three sons-in-law; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Sappleton, Edna Garden and Euphema Gentle; brothers, Aston, Isaac and David O'Meally; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Services were held at Trinity St. John's Episcopal Church in Hewlet. Interment was at Trinity St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Hewlett, New York.
