Richard Edward Fields

Richard Fields, a longtime Rockaway resident, died February 9. He was 50.

Fields was born in the Bronx on February 25, 1957. He served in the United States Army, where he was trained as a telephone technician.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Bryan and James Fields; and siblings, Evelyn and Clarence David Fields.

Fields is survived by his sons, Tyrone, Richard, Brandon, Danelle and Stefon; daughters, Maria and Brittany; step-daughter, Chanelle; brothers, Norman, Herman, James and Glen; sister, Ester Fields Miller; step-father, Leroy Brown; brothers-inlaw, Louis Miller, Pastor Tyrone Stevenson and Chris Smiley; nephews, Dwayne, Shawn, Donovan, Eddie, Norman and Shaktik; nieces, Marsha and Tanya; the Blomquist family; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation and services at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
