Epistle To the Hopelessly Ignorant
Dear Editor,

In Mr. Culotta's latest epistle to the hopelessly ignorant, he compliments candidates for prudently being vague about change. If the words hadn't come out of The Progressive's pure pen, I would find praising an attempt to mislead voters very cynical. For Culotta's benefit, "change" means nickels, dimes and quarters which are left to taxpayers after socialist redistribution.

To list some objections to his proposals, government full funding of all campaigns is currently opposed by a majority of Americans (see tax form check offs). This program could also be called the incumbent reelection guarantee act. Does "proportional" representation mean ethnic or racial representation? If so, at present, it would be unconstitutional (Which founders supported this?) As for medical care based solely on profit, would you care to personally tell all our nurses, doctors and EMTs that they are blood-sucking profiteers and should be ashamed of themselves? Regarding border fences, why should we be the only nation in the world without the right to control who enters our country? We did learn " Give us your tired" in grammar school. We also learned "Mary had a little lamb".

I also learned that a popular poem by a turn of the century socialist does not have the strength of a founding document. It is only a poem. Finally, does ending the war on drugs mean that the government will supply currently illegal drugs to nine-year-olds? If not, please tell me how you plan to legalize drugs but keep nine-yearolds from getting them?

BOB ISRAEL
