'Tis The Season
Dear Editor,

Ah spring! As the season nears we all look forward to birds chirping, flowers blooming and the annual demand note from U.S. Congressman Weiner to the President of the United States seeking release of a convicted spy serving a life sentence. Jonathan Pollard, a civilian intelligence analyst, sold or gave to spies operating from the Israeli Embassy in Washinton D.C., over one million pages of classified documents during an eighteen month period in the mid-1980's The issuance of his letter is usually announced in a press release. Two years, ago, Weiner made his announcement during religious services in the presence of this Israeli representation to the United Nations. I'm sure that this person and his Mossad security staff were over-joyed with his position.

This year I have a novel suggestion for Congressman Weiner. This year why don't you demand that the Israeli government return the purloined documents with the save fervor expressed to the President. I for one, and I'm sure many of your constituents, would appreciate you doing this. I find your present loyalties in this regard repugnant.

MICHAEL P. HONAN
