Two hundred and fifty hardy souls took a plunge in the Atlantic Ocean to benefit the fight against Cystic Fibrosis last Saturday afternoon. The actual plunge took place at 2 p.m. on a cold, cloudy afternoon but that did little to stop the participants from taking the dip. Pictured, a piper leads the plungers from the Belle Harbor Yacht Club south on Beach 126 Street to the beach for the plunge.
Bathing suits of all sorts were in evidence and some covered up more than others.
Some plungers were getting colder by the second awaiting the start.
These participants could not wait to get started.
Hundreds of marchers filled the street from Rockaway Beach Boulevard to the Ocean Promenade.
