Racetrack To Remain Open

State Senator Serphin Maltese and Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer praised the legislation, expected to be passed, that will allow racing to continue at Aqueduct. Under the terms of the agreement, the length of the franchise will be 25 years and a newly reconstituted New York Racing Association (NYRA) Board will include 25 members, with representation for the existing NYRA Board of Directors, the Governor, the Senate Majority Leader, and the Speaker of the Assembly, breeders, horsemen, organized labor, and the OTB.
