SJEH Birthing Classes

Expecting parents can prepare for childbirth by taking birthing classes at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. The classes teach parents to-be what to expect with cesarean delivery, pain medications, and the warning signs of preterm labor. Other topics covered include breathing, relaxation exercises, exercises for pregnant women, nutrition, breast and bottle feeding, stages of labor, post-partum depression, and caring for yourself and your baby. Taught by certified prepared childbirth educators, the classes will be in the hospital's boardroom, located at 327 Beach 19 Street.

The classes will be held in three sessions: Mondays, March 3, 10, and 17; Thursdays, May 1, 8, 15, July 3, 10, 17, September 4, 11, 18 and November 6, 13, 20, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fees are affordable. For registration information, call 718-869-7182.
