Your Vote Could Make All The Difference
There were many pundits who believed that the primary elections would be over by Super Tuesday, February 5, when New Yorkers got a chance to vote for their favorite candidates. Time has once again proven the pundits wrong. With Super Tuesday around the corner, the candidates in both parties continue to wage a vigorous campaign for their candidacies. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama and John Edwards still battle for their party's nod. On the Republican side, some have fallen by the wayside, but John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rudy Giuliani continue the battle. Next Tuesday may well help to cull more candidates from the race, cutting the pack to two contenders on each side. Then again, depending on the outcome of the vote in the myriad of states that will poll that day, we may well come out of Super Tuesday just as we went in, with multiple candidates still in the contest. This is an exciting election year, albeit one that seems to have gone on forever. The bottom line is to vote for your favorite in the primary next Tuesday and then to vote once again on Election Day, November 4. The vote is perhaps your most important franchise that we enjoy as citizens of the United States. If you don't exercise that franchise, then you cannot complain about what happens thereafter. Voting is more than your right, it is your duty.
