Crawford was born in Inwood on November 10, 1932. She was a foster mother with New York State's foster care service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Artie Crawford; brother, Charles Jackson; and daughter-in-law, Nina. Crawford is survived by her children, Artie II, Debra Crawford-Bettis (John), George, Victor, Tracey, Bryant, and Rasheed; daughters-in-law, Barbara and Terry; grandchildren, Darrell, Ahmond, Andre, Terrence, Fatima, Aiysha, Abdul, Laura, Daquan, Angel, Jermaine, Tikiya, Tenesha, Fatima, Denise, Vanavia, Laquan, Tevon, Octavia, Rasheed, Quinese, Imani, Hasan, Bryshawn, Bryton, Antoine, Terrell, Anita, Aissa, Tuesday and Wednesday Cooper; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Edie Jackson and Trudy Strother; brothersin law, Jessie and Carvin Crawford and Thomas Strother; friends, Margie Griffin and Willie Wolf; and other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Services were held at Bethel AME Church. Interment was at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, New York.
