for larger version       Ruth E.Mahoney Ruth Mahoney, a 30-year Rockaway resident, died January 11. She was 100. Mahoney, a bookkeeper, was born in Brooklyn. She was a member of the Christ Community Church in Breezy Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Mahoney. Mahoney is survived by her son, John Francis Mahoney Jr. (Marie); grandchildren, John Francis Mahoney III, Joann Byrne, Lisa Mahoney; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis O'Connor Funeral Home. Services were held at the Christ Church, in Brooklyn. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
