Nature Preserve Coming Only If Arverne East Is Built

Representatives of the New York City Arts Commission present their renderings of the Arverne East Nature Preserve to enthusiastic Community Board 14 members, who were generally excited about the project.
The New York City Arts Commission won over the typically tough group of Community Board 14 board members at this week's meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Beach 90 Street. The project design was approved unanimously by board members but will only be built if Arverne East is developed into the projected housing community that would mirror the neighboring Arverne By The Sea.
This artist rendering shows the east end of the nature preserve that will include amenities such as a nature trail, bus stop, parking, connecting boardwalk ramp, and Nature Center as the centerpiece of the project.
View of the proposed Nature Center that will serve as the main attraction connecting the beach and proposed nature trail within the twelve blocks of the Arverne East Nature Preserve, which will feature plants, flowers, and various other nature themed elements.
An overhead view of the project shows the exact location along Shore Front Parkway from Beach 56 Street down to Beach 44 Street.
