Driving In A Snowy Situation

Stress, strains, accidents and other dangerous conditions often accompany a snowstorm. However, there are many safe and effective ways to dig out your car. Make sure that the snow is not blocking ventilation in your car. Start by clearing out the tailpipe and by digging a hole through the snow to the mid-section of your car. There are several other tips that experts offer for helping you get your car out safely. See and Be Seen. Clear all helpful areas of your car, including the windows, the roof, and headlights for maximum visibility. Avoid the stress! Don't attempt to do strenuous work on your own if you can't handle it. Hire help or ask a friend. To get your car out, rock your car back and forth to create tracks to guide your car out. Do not just accelerate. This can be dangerous to you and other drivers. When skidding on the road, do not panic. Turn your wheel in the direction of the skid and pump your brakes. Although scary at first, it will be your best chance for regaining traction. Finally, take it slow! The roads are slippery and by avoiding jerky stops and maintaining your speed you increase your chances of arriving safely.
