Holiday Double Dutch Classic Comes To Sorrentino

Double Dutch groups from Brooklyn, Bellport, Long Island and Rockaway took part in the 2007 Holiday Double Dutch Classic at the Sorrentino Recreation Center last week.

Those participating in the December 25 competition were broken up into individual age groups in the novice and advanced categories and received awards for first, second and third place finishes. There also were overall winners representing both novice and advanced jumpers.
Students from PS 40's after school program in Brooklyn were also represented.

Rockaway's Stan's Pepper Steppers won for overall advanced high school jumping. A team from Bellport, Long Island received overall first place for novice high school jumping.
