Jump Start Camp Registration Begins For Young Boys and Girls

The Jump Start Basketball Camp presents the fourth annual "Mini-Camp" at Christ the King High School, which will be held during the mid-winter school recess in February.

The basketball camp will conduct skill instruction, drills, 3-on-3 tournaments and games throughout the weeklong camp.

Girls from third through the eighth grade, and boys from third through the sixth grade, are invited to learn the game of basketball at one of the top high schools in the city. The camp will take place from February 18-22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Some of the top high school, AAU and college coaches will be on hand, along with instruction from current high school players, who will work with each camper to provide the highest quality instruction in an atmosphere where the emphasis is on learning and developing skills.

According to the camp, they will do this through outstanding coaching and demonstration of fundamental and advanced techniques. Their goal is to insure that each camper receives an enjoyable experience.

Current WNBA star Sue Bird, and former local high school star Janelle McManus have been instructors at the camp in the past.

The cost is $160, which includes instruction, insurance and a t-shirt. For further information and to print an application, log on to www.jumpstartcamp.com or call Jill Cook at 718-318-5366.
