for larger version       Lebert Garfield Beckford Lebert Garfield Beckford, a longtime Rockaway resident, died December 23. He was 76. Beckford, a polisher, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on July 31, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Violet Beckford; son, Barry Beckford (Franshawn); daughter, Sherene Beckford-Smalls (Wayne); grandchildren, Malik and Alexis Beckford, Immanuel, Isaiah, and Serena Smalls; brother, Neville Bernard; sister, Winnie; and cousins and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and services were at Cambria Heights Gospel Chapel. Interment was at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield Gardens, New York.
