Click Here for More Information Two Shot, Three Stabbed in Separate Incidents And, while none of the wounds suffered by the six local residents was life-threatening, police say that the spate of violence was unusual in a year in which the incidents of such assaults were way down. Police sources say that at about 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, two males with multiple stab wounds walked into the emergency room at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway. According to police, who declined to identify any of the victims, one of the men had two stab wounds to the stomach and the other had three stab wounds to the chest. Police say that the two men refused to answer any questions about who stabbed them or provide a motive for the stabbings. They did say that there was a third man who had been stabbed as well, but they refused to provide a name or a location for that man. A short time later, police found a witness who told them that the third man was at 10-37 Beach 20 Street and that the stabbings had taken place inside that location. About 2:30 a.m., responding police found the third, unidentified, man hiding in the attic of that house. That victim had one stab wound to the face and another to his left shoulder. He was transported to St. John's Episcopal Hospital. All of the three victims were treated and released. At 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 30, two 19-year-old women were shot in a second floor apartment at 14-25 Central Avenue, after an altercation between two other people led to gunplay, police say. The two women told police that they were bystanders and were accidently shot. According to sources, a sector patrol car from the 101 Precinct was directed to a "shots fired" call in the vicinity of Mott and Central Avenues. Officers searching the area found the two women with gunshot wounds in front of 10-36 Nameoke Street, about two blocks from the shooting site. The two woman directed police to the crime scene and a Level I Mobilization was called, bringing dozens of officers from the Queens South Task Force, as well as aviation and canine units to the scene. The women described the shooter as a male with a ponytail. While police declined to provide identification for the two victims, sources told The Wave that one of the women was shot in the left pelvis and the other in the left arm. The two were transported to Jamaica Hospital Center, where they were treated and later released, police say. Officers canvassed the entire Far Rockaway area looking for the shooter, with negative results. Detectives from the 101 Precinct Squad are investigating both of the assaults.
