The Commanding Officer of the 101 Precinct in Far Rockaway, Captain Brian McMahon, told community members last week that he believes the church burglaries that took place over a three-month period last summer are "likely resolved."

"The guy [who] we think was doing the church burglaries, we can't prove it, but we believe he's been incarcerated now for the last two months [as a result of another case]," said McMahon at December's 101 Precinct Community Council Meeting.

He added that none of the musical equipment stolen has been recovered.

"We believe [the thief] is away and it is probably resolved." He also said the investigation of the burglary of computers from the Torah Academy for Girls in November was not connected to the summer church break-ins and that investigation into that burglary continues.
