Father Cunningham Gives Thanks
Each year during the holiday season I am amazed at the tremendous generosity of the people of Rockaway. At Thanksgiving this year the Parish of St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Gertrude was able to assist hundreds of families and individuals thanks to the support we receive from so many in our community. We are grateful for the support from all of our friends and neighbors, especially the Rockaway Irish Boys, Mike Egan, Sean Heeran, The Graybeards, Steve Stathis, Jimmy Mullen (and all of his family and friends), Msgr. Mike Curran and all of the people of Blessed Trinity Parish, Elizabeth Leib, Msgr. John Brown and all of the people of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Dorothy Brenna, Brother Tom Traeger, the Rockaway Rotary Club, John Skelly, the Seabreeze Golden Age Club of St. Francis de Sales, Msgr. Al LoPinto and the people of St. Helen's Parish - Howard Beach, Sister Hannah Marie Cox and all of the hundreds of families who gave of themselves so that so many other families were able to have a Happy Thanksgiving. Each year I am amazed at the generosity of the people of this community. Rockaway is a very special place to live and serve. Thanks to all of the people who make it so special. May God Bless you all!
