Dear Editor, Each year during the holiday season I am amazed at the tremendous generosity of the people of Rockaway. At Thanksgiving this year the Parish of St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Gertrude was able to assist hundreds of families and individuals thanks to the support we receive from so many in our community. I will never back down from my desire to safeguard our country or in challenging the motives of any special interest group or politician. My response to Michael Schwartzman is very simple, to wit: don't let your evident bias and prejudices detract from speaking the truth. More ... Dear Editor, Now there's a surprise! Rockaway loses its bid to maintain a toll-free connection to the mainland. We're already forced into paying Manhattan gas prices and shopping in the priciest Waldbaum's in the tri-state area. Why would I expect less from the M.T.A. on this matter? More ... |
