Bishop Kearney High School was among the 32 schools in Brooklyn and Queens invited to participate in the 2008-2009 Challenge, a Jeopardy like game show for teens, sponsored by Cablevision and News 12. Ashley Anglade, Allison Behette, Bridget Dalton of Breezy Point, Maria Frangella and Marissa Peragine were selected as participants by the faculty for their diverse interests.

On October 30, the team and their faculty advisors Dr. Anne Mulligan and Sister Rosemarie Baglivio CSJ, traveled with parents, faculty and student supporter to the taping at NEP Studios in the Hotel Pennsylvania, which aired on December 6. The team competed against the Brooklyn School of Music and the Arts and won the first round. The second round, out of a total of eight, will be taped during the winter.
