Unfair/Unbalanced Reporting

Dear Editor,

In The Wave the other week, a piece ran about a man who claimed, he worked for the Associated Press and was thrown out of the polling site at PS 225, supposedly by Lew Simon.

For the record, this man, Paul Schubert, was harassing the poll workers and causing problems with the inspectors. The man had phony credentials from the Associated Press. A letter (of which I have a copy) was sent to The Wave by the Associated Press' Human Resources Department) stating that this person is not employed by the Associated Press and there is no record of this person in the Human Resources databases.

After numerous complaints to Lew Simon by poll workers, Lew brought the concern, that this man was harassing the poll workers, to the police and the police evicted this man from the polling site.

The Wave is in possession of this letter, but has not apologized to Lew Simon and has not made a retraction

this piece or set the record straight.

Whatever happened to "Fair and Balanced Reporting" by The Wave?
