LWA Lower School Studies Nutrition

The Lower School at Lawrence Woodmere Academy learned about nutrition on Monday, December 1, with the Jack Sprat Low-Fat World Tour. Pictured are Cara and Jenna Rosenfeld, fourth grade students from Neponsit, with Calvin Thompson who played MC Hubbard, a cupboard consultant, Leslie Tammone who played Gloria, Jack's wife, and Will Johnson who played Jack Sprat, who could eat no fat. The production is funded by the American Cancer Society of New York, which originally commissioned the production to make children aware of the benefit of a good diet in relation to building the body's natural resistance to disease. As the project developed, the aim became raising students' level of understanding of good eating habits and nutrition in general.
