School Day Bombs At Beginning


Teachers arriving at PS 42 at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning found a large graffiti sign that read, "Bomb In School" on one of the entrance doors. Police, including units from the elite Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded to the school and did a walk-through to see if an explosive device was indeed in the building. The building was evacuated and both students and teachers were kept a distance from the school or in the schoolyard until the search was completed. No bomb was found and the school day eventually started for real.
