A motorman was startled on Tuesday afternoon at about 1:15 p.m. when a passenger handed him a rectangular package that the passenger had found on a floor of one of the subway cars standing in the Rockaway Park subway station. The passenger reportedly told the motorman that the package was ticking and then he quickly left the train. The motorman called police, who inspected the suspicious package and then called for the NYPD's bomb squad and the emergency service unit.
