Title Winning Rockaway Ravens Stops Jamaica

The Rockaway Ravens Mighty Mite division has officially been crowned kings of the 9-years old Big Apple Youth Football Division. Displaying their dominance on November 22, 2008 at Old Boys High in Brooklyn, they defeated the Jamaica Bulldogs in blowout fashion to win the championship.

After going into halftime tied at 0, the Ravens scored 18 points in the second half and allowed none to be scored by their opponent.

This was yet another display of hard-hitting defense by the Ravens, which has shutout their opponents in 8 of the 11 played games.

Defense wins championships as destiny has been fulfilled. The Ravens organization would like to express thanks to head coach Tyrone, offensive coach Jerome, defensive coach Al, special teams coach Omar, and parent coaches Freddie, Corey, Anthony and Steph.

Also, Congratulations to the Jr. Midgets who lost to the Brooklyn Chiefs in the Superbowl. Lastly, both of the teams and our cheerleaders will be heading to Florida on December 5 through December 14 to compete in a national tournament representing New York. Donations will be accepted to help fund the players travel.

The Ravens celebrate winning the Big Apple title. The Ravens celebrate winning the Big Apple title. Please contact President Dexter Archbold at 646-247-0066. Thank you for all your support.
