Internet Perv Back In The Slammer
A former Rockaway Park college recruiter is back in jail again after violating his probation by once again posting lewd photos of his wife on the Internet and inviting strangers to take part in a rape fantasy with her.
Court sources say that Thomas Gillen, 46, was hit with a 91-count complaint in Queens Supreme Court late last week, which charged that he re-posted his ex-wife's pictures online in February of 2008, in violation of an earlier plea deal from 2006, when he originally committed the crime.
Sources say that Gillen initially forced his unidentified wife to pose for the photos by threatening to kill her. He then allegedly impersonated her online by setting up an email account and a website in her name and posting her nude photos on the site.
Court records show that she was too frightened to testify against Gillen and that he was pretending to be his wife when he posted the photos.
In the posting, he reportedly provided her work address and invited men to come and take part in a rape fantasy with his wife as victim.
Law enforcement sources say that several men actually showed up to take part in the fantasy with Gillen's wife.
In 2006, Gillen pled guilty to felony identity theft and was sentenced to five years probation in September of 2007. Court sources say that he failed to meet the requirements of his probation, skipping meetings with his probation officer and failing to attend sex offender classes.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and, after a high-speed chase, Gillen was found sleeping in a motel in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and arrested by that state's police department.
Gillen could face up to seven years in prison if convicted of the charges against him, which include identity theft, criminal impersonation, criminal contempt and falsifying business records.
He pled not guilty to all charges and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
