According to Stan Brown, of Sorrentino, the team played in Jamaica on Election Day beating Vic Hanson Recreational Center 14-0 and Detective Keith Williams Recreational Center 62-0.

"We're going to the Queens championship next Tuesday at Vic Hanson Recreational Center," said Brown, who added Sorrentino has a record of 2-0 in this short season. "We don't know who our opponents are yet."

If the team wins next week, they would move on to the city championships. Last year Sorrentino's Team G-Way, from the 8-11 age division, lost to the Bronx in the semi-finals of the city championship. Team G-Way, from the 12-14 year-old division, went down by one point to Staten Island in the city semi-final.
