SJEH Names Clayton Director Of Adolescent Services
Susan E. Clayton, MA, RDT, LCAT, is the new Director of Child and Adolescent Services at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. Ms. Clayton is responsible for three programs that serve children with mental health issues: 1) home-based crisis intervention, which seeks to prevent children from needing intensive services; 2) blended case management, which supports outpatient assistance to stabilize children and keep their families functioning optimally; and 3) family support services, a facilitated support group for these children and their families. Each program is based in the Rockaways.
"As a creative arts therapist and a drama therapist," says Clayton. "I bring a clinical understanding to my role."
Clayton came from Holliswood Hospital where she served as Regional Coordinator and Community Relations Representative.
She has her Bachelor of Arts degree from Scripps College in Claremont, CA, and her Master of Arts in Drama Therapy from New York University. She is a nationally registered drama therapist.
She has experience in day treatment, case management, individual and group psychotherapy, and quality improvement.

The family support services group meets every Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 1908 Brookhaven Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY.
It is open to families with a member who has a mental health diagnosis.
Activities are provided and parenting and family skills are taught. The program is free.
