BCAC Shamrocks Ponies Bounce Back

The past two weeks saw the BCAC Shamrock Ponies record go to 3-4 in a loss against Copiague and a win against Levittown.

In the loss against Copiague, Shamrock touchdowns were scored on a kick return by Eddie Hoff and a 40-yard pass play to Mike Abrams.

Defensive leaders were Tom Kelly, Chris Manfre, Carmine Criscione, Charlie Gavigan, Eammon Gavigan with a fumble recovery and Mike Connelly preventing a Copiague touchdown by cutting off the outside lane. Copiague would win by a final score of 33-13.

Last Sunday, the boys were away for a game in Levittown. The Shamrocks would quickly put up 6 points on a 20-yard sweep by Eddie Hoff. In the second quarter Tom Kelly would run the ball in for another 6 points and a 2-point conversion kick by John Meringolo would make the score 14-0.

Chris Manfre would run a 15-yard touchdown to make the score 20-0. Levittown would score in the fourth quarter for a 20-6 final. Defensive leaders were Paul Yodice, Phil Jannis, Mike Abrams, Carmine Criscione, Paul Raider and Matt Marketti.

The entire team contributed to this win including: Joe Galimi, Andrew Conklin, Will Kazmierczuk, Vinny Spirito, Eammon and Charlie Gavigan on offense. Defensively it was Mike Connelly, Tim Panetta, Joe Sciulara, Joe Gallagher, Tom Powers and Tom Creighton.
