When Will Enough Be Enough?

Dear Editor,

I continue to be outraged about the crime committed by and against my "Black" brothers and sisters in this civilized nation that we call "America." What I don't get is why we are so quick to become outraged when someone of another race commits a crime against a "Black" brother or sister, yet we haven't got the guts to stand up and denounce this cruel and brutal act when our very own commits such a crime. Something is terribly wrong with that picture! That my friends, is called double-standards!

Its time to stop this nonsense and face the real enemy - our own race! We must stop blaming everyone else for the "State of Black America." We all have choices in life, and if we want to stop the drugs, rapes, gang violence and gun violence in our communities, we must be bold enough to say "enough is enough." The thugs committing these crimes are not strangers! You know who they are, and as painful as it may be, we must take a stand and stop turning our heads because one day they will meet their fate. We see them everyday in our community selling drugs, high as a kite, and in possession of illegal weapons. We must put fear aside and unite to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our communities.

I strongly suggest that every community across America form a Community Action Association (CAA) and become the eyes and ears of our local police precincts - observe and report! The CAA can and will help return our communities to a safe place for our families, and restore the quality of life that we all deserve.
