'Reject' Daniel Solomon

Dear Editor,

This letter is in response to the "Reject McCain-Palin" letter featured in the September 26 issue of The Wave. Daniel Solomon is a despicable human being for his characterization and defaming of Sarah Palin. His letter is a total left wing smear that attacks people personally rather than politically. To quote Daniel Solomon, "Yes, and Palin does have a special needs child to promote her own political ambition and agenda, and because she refused to get an abortion Palin is making an innocent child suffer through the awful existence that is Down's Syndrome." Daniel Solomon you are a despicable human being. I have two cousins with Down's syndrome, both of them are severe cases. However, at family parties, and even going to their house to spend time and see them, they are a pleasure to be around and a complete joy to everyone they touch. You say Sarah Palin "refused" an abortion, well she decided, which she legally can do, to keep her child. She has the right to choose. So pretty much what you are saying is, if you are pregnant and having a Down-syndrome child, the mother should abort? That is a pretty despicable position to hold. Had you written your letter and criticized the politics and only the politics, then I would have read your letter and respected your opinion. I would not agree with it, but I would respect it. You crossed the line when you made the comment that she refused to get an abortion and Palin is making an innocent child suffer. I think you owe all of those with Down syndrome and their families an apology.
