Hip Hop Artist Kicks Off Coat Drive


Hip Hop artist Ja Rule, right, takes part in the "Second Annual Coat Drive Kickoff" at Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Beach 71 Street last Saturday as he donates a jacket from his "I Love My Life" foundation -  which is geared toward intercity, underprivileged youth to give them a chance at life. Dozens of coats were collected last weekend. The coat drive, in conjunction with the Far Rockaway NAACP Youth Council, will continue at Mount Carmel Church until the week before Thanksgiving. People can pick up coats every day at the Arverne library, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the First Baptist Church Food Pantry and at the Bethel AME Church at 215 Beach 77 Street.
