Shots rang out again on Beach 86 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard this week, putting a bullet hole in the window

a local bodega and sending onlookers scurrying for cover.

Police sources say that the call of "shots fired" was called to the 911 emergency system at about 10

m. on October 12.

Police responding to the call found a bullet hole in the front window of the bodega at 86-02 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Hammels. That corner, Beach 86 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, has been the scene of numerous shooting incidents over the past three months.

Eyewitnesses described the shooter as a male, about 30 years old, wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. He reportedly fled eastbound into the Hammel Houses public housing complex.

Police officials called a Level I Mobilization, which brought officers from all over south Queens.

A canvass of the area found neither the shooter nor a shooting victim. Police also checked local hospitals for a victim.

One bullet fragment was removed from the storefront window by members of the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit.
