St. John's Episcopal Hospital held a ceremony and luncheon to honor employees' service to the institution, on Friday, October 10, 2008, at the Lawrence Village Country Club. Employees who had from 35 years to 10 years of service, in five-year increments, were invited to attend with their guest. Employees with five years of service were honored at a reception at the hospital. Everyone received pins marking their years of service.

John Gupta, St. John's Chief Executive Officer, said, " Before coming to St. John's, I asked people what was the best thing about the hospital and everyone said the same thing, the people. You are the foundation of that community of people and that sense of family. We all came to work at the Hospital because of a sense of purpose and what you do is very valuable. Whether you work in billing or are a secretary or a nurse, thank you. Your work is greatly appreciated."
