Souls Needed To Create 'I Want My Mummy'
The Rockaway Artists Alliance is sending an open call for brave souls to create "I Want My Mummy," a threenight free interactive Halloween event to be performed in building T-7 (sTudio 7), Fort Tilden.
Anyone and everyone is invited to participate. Volunteers will be assembled every Friday night at 8 p.m., October 10, 17 and 25, to join master builders of RAA raising an amazing labyrinth of pyramid doors, moving walls, trap doors, tomb traps and rolling boulders bathed in shadowing lights surrounded by eerie haunting sounds.
Volunteers are also welcome to participate in the event itself, "I Want My Mummy," to be held on Thursday, October 30; Friday, October 31; and Saturday, November 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the T-7 building, Rockaway Center for the Arts in Fort Tilden.
RAA will transform its spacious sTudio 7 Gallery into a twisting, turning tomb just in time for Halloween. They are looking for a few good ghouls to help turn the fantasy into fun. Each year, RAA's Halloween event draws young and old alike. This year they will find themselves in a "spooky maze of Egyptian horrors, mummies, underworld mysteries, pyramids and shocking finds!" Last year's RAA Prison Ship scare fest attracted more than 2,000 visitors. This year's "I Want My Mummy," promises an extravaganza that is beyond this world. Let the spirits move you to lend a hand, have some fun and give Rockaway a roaring good scare. The event is presented in partnership with The National Park Service/Gateway National Recreation Area.
