BCAC Green Shamrocks Get Their Second Victory

In their toughest game yet, the Green Shamrocks slugged it out with the White Shamrocks at Broad Channel Memorial Field last Saturday.

This was a preview of the November 8 Shamrock Bowl, and it was not a disappointment.

On the very first series, the White Shamrocks were able to get through the Green Shamrocks' "Green Machine" defense to take an early 6-0 lead.

Defensive coordinator Kenny "Danc- 2ing with the Stars" Jackowski fired up his defense and they were able to keep the White Shamrocks out of the end zone for the rest of the day. Some stand out stars on defense was James Mangan, Nathanial Pagan, Tommy Corbett, Anthony Ingenito, Mike Sirota, Sebastian Freiberg, and Billy Hartman.

The Green Shamrocks' defense has only given up only three touchdowns all year; they have become a force to be reckoned with.

The Green Shamrocks were down at the half, but these warriors never hung their heads. The offensive line became a blocking machine for the second week in a row led by Nicco Finizio, Philip Benoit, Mike Sadowski, Nick Galimi and Adain Clifford.

Late in the game, coach John "Yoda" Galimi drew up a key play that would prove to be unstoppable. This play enabled Michael "Thunder" O'Connell to get in the end zone with a 60-yard touch down (his third of the year). After the game tying score, the Green Shamrocks' defense came up with a big stop and gave the offense one more play.

There was only 25 seconds left in the game, and Joey Iannello scrambled 60 yards for the winning score and his second touchdown of the year. The stands erupted and some people have said that they have still spotted coach Timmy Hanning dancing through the streets. This Saturday, the Green Shamrocks will take to the road to face Plainview, so come on out and cheer on the Shamrocks.
