Bishop Kearney's Runners Win Medals At Mayor's Cup Meet
Donahue continued to set another personal record by running the 2 ½ mile hilly course in a time of 17 minutes 9 seconds with a sixth place finish out of 295 competitors.
Sophomore sensation Meghan "Hollywood" Hayes had sprinted to the front of the pack when the race started. Hayes was in third place crossing the infamous Van Cortlandt Bridge where the toughest part of the course begins. She finished in 7th place behind Donahue
Co-captain "Queen" Mary Gallagher captured the last medal for Bishop Kearney team. Wearing her new spikes and putting them to good use, she dug down and sprint to the finish line securing 23rd place.
Senior Patti Ann Vazquez and junior Katie Fonseca continue to show big improvements in their times. Keep up the good work ladies.
Newcomer, Kirra Whipple made her cross-country debut and was up for the challenge running a respectable time over the course. Nice job. Good luck to the team in next week's Manhattan College High School Invitational.
