Local Precincts Seek Volunteer APOs

Both the 100 and 101 Precincts are actively seeking volunteers for their Auxiliary Police units. If you live or work within New York City, are at least 17 years old and are interested in assisting the community and police department, you are welcome to join the Auxiliary Police.

Volunteers will receive training by the New York City Police Department in police science, social science, criminal law, selfdefense, first aid and other related subjects. All training classes are conducted in both precincts.

Some of the duties performed by the Auxiliary Police include uniform patrol with a partner at residential and commercial areas; special events such as street fairs and parades; bicycle patrol; school and church crossings; assisting in traffic and crowd control; and other police related duties.

All interested parties can contact the 100 Precinct at 718-318-4200 or the 101 Precinct at 718-868-3400.
