The Broad Channel Historical Society held its annual Historical Day on October 5, at the VFW Hall. Visitors brought photographs and memories to be added to the historical collection that can be viewed in the Broad Channel Library.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the replica of the Honor Roll which lists names of servicemen and women who served during World War II. The Society added the names of servicemen and women killed in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The original Honor Roll, which stood at Noel Road and Cross Bay Boulevard, was often photographed and the society used the pictures to compile the list of names. The American Legion and VFW posts in Broad Channel received complimentary copies.
