West End Temple Hosts 'Saturday Safe Haven'


The West End Temple started its Saturday Safe Haven program for tweens last weekend at the synagogue building at 147-02 Newport Avenue in Neponsit. More than children from grades 3 to 8 attended the first safe haven program, which is run one Saturday night each month during the school year. Pictured, boys play ping-pong. Some young girls enjoy a card game. Children in grades 3, 4 and 5 attend the 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. session, while children in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend the later session, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Some young girls enjoy a card game.
