Center For Wound Healing Hosts Open House

Cynthia Moore, RN, of Visiting Nurse Service of New York (l.) and Grace Panzarella, RN, Director of Patient Services of Assisted Living Programs at Long Island Living Center (r.) chatted with Dr. Lloyd Bardfeld, Co-Director of the Center for Wound Healing and Chief of Podiatry at SJEH. The Center for Wound Healing at St. John's Episcopal Hospital held an open house of Wednesday, September 17. The center provides a wide range of treatment options including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for the most difficult wound conditions. HBOT is a medical treatment enhancing the body's natural healing and strengthening the immune system. Chronic wounds caused by diabetes, bone infection, radiation tissue damage and other conditions keep millions of Americans from enjoying their best quality of life. The Center for Wound Healing incorporates proven wound practices with advanced clinical approaches to heal patients suffering from slow or non-healing wounds. The center's multidisciplinary physician team achieves high healing rates and reduced healing time.
