Ludmilla Vaynberg is as facile in watercolor as she is in oil. With "Spring in the Botanic Gardens" and "Fall in NJ," the versatile artist fulfills the kind of freshness, brightness, breath and air that is unique to transparent watercolor.
Two quilts by Veronica Doherty, "Elaine and Ross Got Hitched" and "Flower Power," are colorful, lively pieces of art created of fabric, beads, yarn, beautiful stitching and more.
Schvitzing over her crystal balls in a feverish attempt to predict the truth and consequences of the bicameral billion bailout, Medium Rayah is also receiving other intermittent images, which are invading her fiscal flow. Along with the ghosts of WaMu and Wachovia, RAA's trusted soothsayer and CPA has had disturbing disparate flashes that include the face of her departed English mummy and visions of a new lunch treat, from a local deli, called "The Egyptian Wrap," filled with falafel and chicken - just the bones. Oh, what could this portend? Could it have anything to do with the Madam's favorite yet most dreaded holiday, All Hallows Eve? Could there be a connection to RAA's three-night Halloween hijinks? Stay tuned.
Perhaps related and perhaps not, RAA is looking for Halloween volunteers. We need actors, actresses, costume makers, set designers and more. Meetings are in sTudio 7 in Fort Tilden every Friday until Halloween. Call 718-474-0861.
