Undefeated Far Rockaway Shuts Off Automotive's Engine
      Far Rockaway continue their best start in eight years as the Seahorses' defense held Automotive scoreless in the second half for a 18-6 victory at Grand Street Campus High School on Saturday afternoon. Off to a 4-0 start in the PSAL Cup Division, Far Rockaway's defense allowed only a second quarter touchdown against host Automotive, who fell to 2-2 this season.

Flynn and Flynn Hold Championship Party
      Flynn and Flynn coaches Bill Murphy and Jim Hurley from the Rockaway Little League have celebrated victory parties for the Champion Major Girls Softball team since 2003, and this year was no exception. The team met on August 27, at the Msgr. William F. Burke- Rockaway Council #2672, Knights of Columbus Hall, for an afternoon celebration.

BCAC Shamrock Midgets Tie East Meadow, 0-0
      On a rainy and wet Saturday, holding on to the football was tough for the Shamrocks offense. Though they fumbled 10 times, the Shamrocks recovered 7 of them. Everytime the offense started to move the ball, the rain and wet grass would play a huge part of the game.

BCAC Green Shamrocks tie With Bayville
      The Green Shamrocks took to the road for the first time this year to face the Bayville Falcons. The Shamrocks football team came up huge on the first series by stopping Bayville on their own 20 yard line. After that, it seemed like Bayville could not get another first down. Then right before the half, the Falcons were able to get in the end zone for a score to go up 6-0.

St. Camillus Boys Basketball Team Dedicates Championship Trophy
      Following a team party, the St Camillus Rookie Boys Basketball squad dedicated its Interparish Basketball League trophy to the parish. After finishing with a 9-2 record, the team captured the 2008 Rookie Championship in the Brooklyn league on March 30, 2008 defeating Kings Bay Basketball 54 - 44.
