Bishop Kearney Competes In 30th Annual Xavier Invitational
Junior sensation Meghan "Hollywood" Hayes (Breezy Point ) captured fourth place honors by running a personal best in a time of 17 minutes and 9 seconds for the 2 ½ mile hilly terrain.
Followed closely behind Meghan were Bishop Kearney team captains, Sarah Donahue (Belle Harbor) and Mary Gallagher (Belle Harbor).
From the sound of the official starter's gun, Donahue was on a mission to break the 18-minute barrier. She had no difficulty breaking the barrier by running a personal best of 17 minutes 29 seconds, and securing another medal for the team.
Queen Mary cruised through the finish line effortlessly in a time of 18 minutes and 5 seconds while picking up the final medal for the team.
Coach John Lovett was very impressed with senior Kaitlyn Touhey (Belle Harbor), who fearless in her cross-country debut, ran a respectable time for the hilly course in 20 minutes and 39 seconds.
Let's wish the entire team much success this cross country season.
