BCAC White Shamrocks Lose Tough Road Game

The BCAC White Shamrocks, consisting mainly of residents from Belle Harbor, went up against a bigger and tougher West Hempstead team early last Sunday morning in Long Island. The Shamrocks came up on the short end by the score of 12-6 in I their first road game of the season.

The larger Broncos of Wet Hempstead scored two touchdowns in the first half to take the lead. The Shamrocks defense then tightened with stellar play by Dillon Ostrander, Matt Schmidt, Christian Agoglia, and Jack Ward.

The lone touchdown for the Shamrocks was scored by a run up the middle by RB Ian Byrne. Veteran quarterback Jack Collins changed the play in the huddle after noticing the defense was smothering him from the outside.

The call turned out to be the right as one as Byrne followed a lead block from Mike McManus up the middle for the touchdown. The strong offensive line of Dominick Maiorano, James Agoglia, Patrick Murphy, and James Tuohey helped pave the way for the White Shamrocks touchdown. The team's next game is Saturday evening at 5 P.M. at the Broad Channel Field. Please come and root for our team.
