Sarnoff 's Editorial Cartoon

Dear Editor,

I found Mr. Sarnoff's editorial cartoon amusing and thought of another governor who was chosen to run as Vice President in the past. Now, admittedly, I read his biography some time ago, but I'm pretty sure my history is correct. This governor of New York had less than two years in office at the time (1900, I believe). He was an ardent hunter, adventurer, and conservationist. He often defied his party and had a good number of kids. He was a God-fearing family man and played a role in the Spanish- American war, (which, unfortunately, as in Iraq, was initiated based on false information as well as media instigation). He served as a volunteer colonel; I am, of course, referring to Teddy Roosevelt. And, by the way, he also wore glasses!
