Broken Promises

Dear Editor,

It is going to be two years September 25, 2008, since the loss of my nephew, Mario Young, and the promises from Pastor Evans that he had made to my mother and nothing has been done. Sayahword Ministries Pastor Barrielevia Evans has been holding meetings and we have been collecting signatures to try and get something in the Far Rockaway, Mott Avenue area for these children. Pastor Evans has failed my mother with promises that have not been kept. My family and other people helped get signatures from people to help get funds to build up a center around this Mott Avenue area so that we can try to make a difference in someone's life. But that dream did not come through due to whatever Pastor Evans is doing, but he is supposed to be helping out my family.

Pastor Evans has not been in touch with my family until they had that candlelight vigil Saturday June 21, 2008 just to bring a tee shirt for my family and a flyer with my nephew's picture on it and to let us know about the candlelight vigil. I, Lorette Young, had put so much into getting these signatures and I would like to know what Pastor Barrielevia Evans has done with all the signatures that he was given by Jessica, my mother; and myself.

Why make promises that you cannot keep. I am sick and tired of people always promising things and nothing being done about it. I feel that if you cannot come through with promises then do not make them; because all it is going to do is hurt the family that the promises were made to. Pastor Evans told me to my face that this will not go until he makes sure that we accomplish what we set out to do; but it was just another empty promise.

Pastor Evans should not make promises that he cannot keep and to all parents who have lost a child please do not believe Pastor Evans if he promises you that he will not let it go until something is done. I had wasted my time and effort into getting all the signatures which Pastor Evans has. We even had a name for our group, which we called Families United Against Violence, even the meetings he stopped. So my fellow readers please do not believe a word that Pastor Evans is saying because you will have broken promises and empty dreams.

LORETTA YOUNG
