Tropical Storm Hanna wasn't much of a storm if you ask me. At least not around here. We dodged a bullet this time. The only positive I saw from the blow was the removal of dead bunker from Shellbank Creek. Prior to the winds, the creek was graveyard for thousands of dead bunker. The die off can be contributed to several factors known and unknown. More ... The Broad Channel Athletic Club Ponies football team opened the season with a strong effort with a 25-14 win over Lindenhurst. The Shamrocks quickly opened the game and got on the scoreboard with an 80-yard pass from quarterback Phil Jannis to Chris Manfre for a touchdown. More ... St. Camillus and St. Virgilius have recently combined as one parish. Therefore our CYO teams will be combined for the upcoming year. The CYO program is made up of teams from different sports that represent the parish, and play against other parishes. More ... During extreme weather conditions, veteran Quarterback Luke Jackowski took control of his offense and engineered four scoring drives for the victorious Shamrocks. More ... The Tenth Annual Rita Daly Memorial 5K Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, October 4 at 11 a.m., starting at the boardwalk on Beach 84 Street and Shore Front Parkway. There will be Pee Wee races prior to the event, which will take place rain or shine. More ...
